Indeed, the small parochial school from Latonia did win a state football championship, but in a year when the Indians were not district champions, only earning their state title – and a regional crown – with a postseason-ending rush.
The Indians secured their district title with a 43-6 win over the Ludlow Panthers at Rigney Stadium, finishing the first half with a 36-0 edge that led to a running clock in the second half.
