Gael Grooms, a Baker City resident, relies on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for half of her monthly food bill. She receives $140 per month and is concerned about affording food if her benefits are delayed.
I wondered if she’ll be able to afford that small luxury if her food stamp benefits are delayed.
According to federal and state officials, SNAP benefits will be temporarily cut off starting November 1 if the shutdown persists. However, recipients will receive their full allotments after the shutdown ends.
