Local Volunteers Support Umatilla Robotics Event
Community members in Umatilla came together to make an off-season robotics event possible, showcasing local support for science and technology programs.
The event, known as the Uplift Challenge, took place on October 10-11 at Columbia Vista Intermediate in Umatilla, featuring the 2024 "Reefscape" game from the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology Robotics Competition.
The event was sponsored by Amazon Web Services through a ChangeX grant and brought together teams from across Oregon and Washington. According to the school district,
community volunteers helped ensure the weekend's event was a success for every student involved, from setting up the competition field to serving meals.
