Ventura Harbor Hosts Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest
Ventura Harbor recently hosted the Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest, where approximately 60 dogs participated.
Winners of the contest included Little Bo Peep, who took the Best of Show blue ribbon, as well as Swift and Kelce, Nonviolent Protesters, Jane Goodall, The Headless Horseman, and The Invisible Man.
"We enjoy coming out every year and try something different and we like planning and you know the excitement of being here,"
said Best of Show winner Heather, owner of Sheepadoodle Hadley. Judges seemed to favor homemade costumes worn by dogs and their handlers.
- John and Allie Fragile's dog Jet won with a costume as the Headless Horseman from The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
- The Invisible Man and dog also impressed, with costumes made by Samantha Gonzalez of Oxnard.
Gonzalez's dog is a 2-year-old rescue from the Camarillo Animal Shelter.
