Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent Criticizes NBC Host
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent called out NBC host Kristen Welker for cherry-picking economic data during a Sunday interview on "Meet the Press".
Welker questioned Bessent about price increases for certain everyday goods, such as coffee, beef, and bacon. Bessent argued that the Biden administration left behind an affordability crisis and that overall inflation has eased under President Donald Trump's leadership.

Bessent responded by accusing Welker of cherry-picking data, stating
As much as I like you, you like to cherry-pick. You know, when we came in, it was 'eggflation, eggflation, eggflation.
