Libya has signed the United Nations convention to combat cybercrime, joining 60 countries in the signing ceremony held in Hanoi.
A Libyan delegation, headed by Abdullah Gaderboh, represented Libya in signing the convention, which will enter into force 90 days after 40 countries have ratified it.
The convention is the first comprehensive international legal framework to address cyber threats and transnational crimes in the digital space.
The convention was adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 24, 2024, with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in attendance.
