Historic Adirondack Buildings Receive Rural Revitalization Grants
Four historic buildings in the Adirondacks have been awarded funds for restoration projects through the Adirondack Rural Revitalization Program.
- The Warrensburg public library will receive nearly $15,000 for chimney repairs.
- The Traditional Arts in Upstate New York (TAUNY) center in Canton was awarded nearly $40,000 for window restoration.
- A small storefront in Saranac Lake, home to Heartwood Studios, will receive about $4,000 for exterior repairs.
- The 1855 Stevenson Cottage in Saranac Lake will get $50,000 for key repairs on the historic cottage originally owned by author Robert Louis Stevenson.
The funding was awarded by the Adirondack Rural Revitalization Program and overseen by Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH), a nonprofit historic preservation organization.
