Former DPMs' Cases May Not Be Resolved Before 2026 Elections
According to Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, the cases of former Deputy Prime Ministers who have resigned may not be dealt with in a short time.
Rabuka stated that
it looks like the cases will not be dealt with in a short time, and the court process will take time as the cases are currently in the preliminary stages.
The Prime Minister expressed that this may require
some portfolio management and reshuffling. Despite acknowledging the difficulty, Rabuka is confident in the ability of the strong Civil Service Senior Cadre to
keep things on a steady keel.
The situation may impact the return of the former DPMs to their positions before the 2026 general elections.
