Town Council has refused a rezoning application for a former Port Elgin B&B to allow for two additional residential units.
The application was for a property at the corner of Johnston Ave, where a residential unit was constructed without a Building Permit on the upper level.
Scott Mitchell, the property owner, apologized for not applying for a Building Permit to convert a garage into an accessory apartment unit, promising to never do it again.
Despite the apology, several Saugeen Shores councillors defeated a staff recommendation to approve the rezoning request.
