The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has heard evidence pointing to irregularities in the handling of ballistic evidence linked to the 2024 killing of Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart.
Captain Solomon Modisane, a senior forensic analyst from the SAPS Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), testified that he was "puzzled" to find that the Bramley case, which involves Swart's killing, appeared twice on the national ballistics system.
It was bizarre why the ballistics analysis in the Bramley case was conducted in Pretoria and in KZN.
Modisane described the move as "bizarre" and later learned that investigating officers had raised concerns about irregularities in the Pretoria ballistics report.
