Tennis Takes First Loss in Sweet 16

Davie tennis players Corbin Drum and Kate Chaffin reached the 7A Midwest Regional semifinals, one step from the state tournament.
The tournament, held at Guilford College, saw both players put up a gritty fight in defeat. Coach Collin Ferebee commented on their performance:
Corbin played the one seed really, really hard (6-3, 6-4). It was a competitive match all the way through.
Chaffin also had a notable run, going 2-1 on the day, with coach Ferebee noting:
Kate rolled (in the first round).
