Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) has announced a timeline to separate into two companies by the end of 2026, which will be called "Global Coffee Co." and "Beverage Co."
The decision to split comes after KDP's acquisition of JDE Peet’s in August, and follows the 2018 merger of Keurig Green Mountain and Dr Pepper Snapple Group.
According to KDP CEO Tim Cofer, the goal is to create "two winning companies – a global coffee powerhouse and the most agile North American beverage leader."
KDP's plan aims to separate its soft drink and coffee businesses into two separate entities.
