Powhatan Supervisors Approve Expansion of Data Center Campus
The Powhatan County Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved a 60-acre addition to a planned data center campus.
(It’s) very limited impacts with a profound tax revenue,
said Powhatan's head supervisor ahead of the vote. The campus, owned by California-based Province Group, will now span 181 acres.
- Initial 120 acres approved in 2024
- Additional 60 acres will increase data center space from 1.5 million to 2 million square feet
The expansion was previously met with a frosty reception from the planning commission, but ultimately passed with a 5-0 vote.
