The Sopranos has a iconic opening title sequence, featuring Tony Soprano driving through New Jersey, accompanied by the song "Woke Up This Morning" by Alabama 3.
However, creator David Chase initially wanted a different song, by Elvis Costello, which would have explicitly stated the show's themes.
It would have been a terrible choice
Luckily, Chase opted for the soulful techno track, making the show's opening sequence one of the most perfect in television history.
