Vice President JD Vance stated that the administration will persist in its efforts to deploy National Guard troops in Chicago.
A federal appeals court in Illinois blocked the deployment of federalized National Guard troops on Saturday. Despite this, Vance said on ABC's This Week Sunday,
"We're obviously going to litigate this as much as we can. We think that we have the authority to provide proper safety to our citizens all over the United States, but particularly in Chicago."
The ruling allowed the Trump administration to keep federalized National Guard members in Illinois, but prohibited their deployment for the time being.
