Indiana reports more avian flu in LaGrange County

Avian Flu Outbreak in Indiana

Indiana has reported multiple cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza in LaGrange County.

The Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) confirmed the presence of the virus in three commercial laying hen flocks since October 19.

A 10-kilometer control area and a 20-kilometer surveillance zone have been established, affecting parts of LaGrange, Elkhart, and Noble counties.

The premises has been quarantined.

Only the first case has been listed on the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) website as a confirmed case.
