Canada's Summer Tourism Numbers Reach All-Time High

Canada's tourism sector has generated a record-breaking revenue of $59 billion between May and August, a six per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

The surge in tourism numbers was driven by strong domestic and international travellers, with domestic tourism up seven per cent and revenue from international travellers increasing by 10 per cent.

International events, such as the G7 held in Kananaskis Country, Alberta, contributed to the rise in tourism numbers.

Most of the revenue was the result of Canadians choosing to spend their travel dollars within the country.

According to Destination Canada, revenue from overseas markets increased by 10 per cent, making the summer of 2025 a memorable one for tourism operators across the country.
