UNISON celebrates a major victory against outsourcing, with General Secretary Christina McAnea welcoming members from the south west to UNISON Centre.
Members from Dorset, working across three NHS trusts, prevented the introduction of a subco that would have affected 1,700 facilities staff, including porters, caterers, and housekeepers.
“Every time we’ve seen a subco, we’ve launched a campaign against it – and this was no different,”
said Christina McAnea, who has led national opposition to subcos since 2017.
“Dorset’s victory is a brilliant example of how organising works”, she added.
