Specialty Fabrics Review Celebrates 110-Year Anniversary
Specialty Fabrics Review magazine has supported its readers and business association members through textile industry challenges for 110 years.
The magazine has evolved over the past century, adapting to changes in the industry. It began in November 1915 as The National Tent & Awning Manufacturers Review and has since become more inclusive of a wider range of products.
The publication has undergone several name changes, including:
- The National Canvas Goods Manufacturer’s Review in 1924
- Canvas Products Review in 1958
- Industrial Fabric Products Review in 1966
- Specialty Fabrics Review in 2008
The name changes reflect the growing diversity of the industry and the association, including the increasing number of Canadian members.
What began in November 1915 with the first publication of The National Tent & Awning Manufacturers Review steadily became more inclusive of a wider range of products as new materials, finishing treatments and niche products were invented over the ensuing decades.
