A 30-year-old woman from Portadown, Keara McKeown, has been jailed for a series of shoplifting incidents in the town.
McKeown, of Obins Avenue, stole almost £500 worth of groceries in eight incidents in September and October. Additionally, she stole two Amazon parcels containing items worth £26 on August 24.
Appearing at Craigavon Magistrates' Court via video link from prison, McKeown's defence solicitor described her as having a "terrible record". The solicitor noted that McKeown is "vulnerable" and struggles with mental health and addiction issues, including a past history of heroin and cocaine use, and ongoing struggles with cannabis addiction.
The defendant has a "terrible record" and is "still struggling with addiction to cannabis".
