A Chinese Farmer's Unique Hobby: Building a Working Submarine
A Chinese farmer, Zhang Shengwu, from the Anhui province, has built a working submarine with a surprisingly low investment of around $5,570.
Many people have hobbies, such as flying drones, collecting stamps, or building kit cars. However, building a submarine is a rare feat, one that Zhang can claim after spending a decade constructing his personal sub, called Big Black Fish.
Zhang, who grew up near the Yangtze River, has a background in shipping, farming, carpentry, and welding. Despite his diverse experience, he had never worked on a submarine before.
He calls his submarine Big Black Fish.
Zhang's achievement is a remarkable example of dedication and innovation, making him stand out among hobbyists.
