Fears Grow for Thousands Trapped in Sudan's El-Fasher
Fears are increasing for thousands of people trapped in Sudan's el-Fasher city, with only a few thousand having escaped the atrocities committed by Sudan's paramilitary forces.
An aid group reports that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took control of the western Darfur region, ousting the Sudanese army, and have been responsible for numerous atrocities against civilians, including:
- Beatings
- Killings
- Sexual assaults
A migration agency believes that tens of thousands have fled el-Fasher, but less than 6,000 have reached the nearest humanitarian camp in Tawila.
Only a few thousand Sudanese have escaped atrocities by Sudan's paramilitary forces in el-Fasher city.
