Consumer giant Kimberly-Clark, manufacturer of Huggies diapers and Kleenex tissues, is acquiring Kenvue, the company behind Tylenol and Band-Aids, in a merger worth $49 billion.
The deal comes amidst controversy surrounding Tylenol, after the Trump administration linked acetaminophen, its active ingredient, to autism, despite lacking clear scientific evidence. Kenvue has disputed these claims as "simply false."
According to Kimberly-Clark CEO Mike Hsu, the merger will create "a global health and wellness leader" by combining the two "iconic companies."
