Regional Publisher to Retire at End of Year
Kari Borgen, regional publisher for CMGEO's coast and Eastern Oregon newspapers, will retire at the end of 2025.
Borgen, 65, has had a nearly 40-year career at newspapers in Colorado, Montana, Idaho, California, and Oregon, starting as an intern at The Missoulian in Montana.
"I have always loved my work," Borgen said, "The people I've worked with, the people I've worked for and the communities I've been privileged to serve have been, by and large, a joy to work with. It's been a challenging path over the last 40+ years but a rewarding journey.
Regional editor Phil Wright will take on the duties of East Oregonian publisher on December 1.
