Democrats in Montclair Rally for Mikie Sherrill on Election Eve
Supporters of gubernatorial candidate Rep. Mikie Sherrill gathered in her adopted hometown of Montclair, a Democratic stronghold, on election eve Monday.
People waved signs that said
"Hit The Road Jack"and
"Let's Land This"as they packed nearly half a block of Church Street.
- A large blue campaign bus blocked the street near its intersection with Bloomfield Avenue.
- Supporters cheered Sherrill and her running mate Dale Caldwell.
- They face Republican Jack Ciattarelli, a former assemblyman, in the gubernatorial race.
"My heart is full because we know who we’re fighting for,"Sherrill told the audience,
"We’re fighting for our families; we’re fighting for our kids."
