General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has confirmed that it is now flying two examples of its YFQ-42A prototype fighter.
The second aircraft is conducting flight testing under the US Air Force's Collaborative Combat Aircraft programme.
Photos released by General Atomics show two fully capable YFQ-42As on the flight line, with one of the jets having a tail number of 004.
The first YFQ-42A prototype, with tail number 002, made its inaugural sortie in August.
