Great Bend's football team, led by coach Erin Beck, is set to host Wichita Carroll in a second-round 5A showdown at Memorial Stadium.
According to coach Beck,
"It's 5A West playoff time. We're at the point where we'll have to play four quarters. Our kids are fresh and ready to go."
Wichita Carroll has a 5-2 all-time advantage over the Panthers, but Great Bend won their first meeting in 2004 with a score of 42-28 and also won in 2006 with a score of 21-14.
The Eagles' offense is run-oriented and led by dual-threat quarterback John Corrigan, who scored two touchdowns in their 24-20 victory over Derby. Their main backfield threat is Cooper Herrman.
