Brazil's President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is urging global collaboration on climate change as the country prepares to host COP30 in the Amazon.
When we decided to hold COP here... we already knew the conditions of the city. And we decided to do it here because we didn't want comforts, we wanted challenges.
Lula emphasized the need for action over talk in addressing catastrophic global warming. Around 50 heads of state will attend a meeting in Belém, followed by COP30 next week.
