According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the government intervened because it feared the loss of crucial technologies and capabilities from the Netherlands and Europe.
There were “acute signals of serious governance shortcomings and actions” at Nexperia, with a threat of a knowledge leak and potential risk to Dutch and European economic security.
