Cameron Norrie Reaches Metz Semifinals

Cameron Norrie survived a tough challenge from local favorite Kyrian Jacquet at the Moselle Open on Thursday. As the last remaining seed in the ATP 250 tournament, Norrie secured victory by winning the final 11 points in a two-hour and 25-minute battle.

“He surprised me a lot,” Norrie said of Jacquet, the third French player he has defeated this week. “He was mixing it up really well. A lot of slicing, then really aggressive at moments. His serve is really, really good. The French have so many good players, so many different kinds of players. I really liked the way he competed and he could have easily won the match in the second set as well, but I managed to stay tough.”

Jacquet delivered 48 winners, half from his forehand, compared to Norrie's 28. However, the 30-year-old Briton found his best form when it mattered most to secure his spot in the semifinals.

Other Quarterfinal Results

Learner Tien, a rising #NextGenATP player, came back from a set down to defeat Matteo Berrettini 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 in one hour and 44 minutes. In their first ATP Head2Head meeting, the 19-year-old converted all three break points he earned, according to Infosys ATP Stats.
