Mel Tracina is set to host Big Brother Australia’s 2025 season, which will premiere on Channel 10 in November. The iconic reality show returns to its roots with the original format and a fresh group of contestants.
First aired on Channel 10 in 2001, Big Brother Australia ran for eight memorable seasons. Over the years, fans witnessed unforgettable moments including proposals, humorous antics like bum dances, twins pretending to be one person, and even appearances by notable housemates such as Corey Worthington.
The show also launched the careers of several television personalities, including Chrissie Swan, Reggie Bird, and Sara-Marie Fedele.
Mel, 36, previously known for her work on The Cheap Seats, expressed excitement about hosting the show. She said to The Weekly:
“Big Brother is such a loved show. Around the world, and especially in Australia, the excitement for the return of it and to go back to the OG format has been so great to hear.”
Mel joins a prestigious list of hosts that includes Gretel Killen and Sonia Kruger. As a long-time fan of the original series, she brings wit and deep knowledge to the role.
The 2025 season will retain fan-favorite elements such as 24/7 livestreaming along with live nominations and evictions—Mel’s favorite aspect of the show:
“I love that the Australian public decide [who stays and leaves],” Mel admitted.
Mel Tracina will bring fresh energy and expertise to Big Brother Australia 2025, rekindling fans' passion for the original format and interactive audience experience.
