Former Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal returned to Phoenix on Thursday, marking his first conversation with local media since joining the Los Angeles Clippers following a mid-July buyout. The visit gave him a chance to look back on two challenging years with the Suns and the team’s inability to live up to expectations.
Beal acknowledged that while he had thought deeply about his time in Phoenix, he preferred not to dwell on the details of what went wrong behind the scenes. His reflections suggested acceptance and a readiness to move forward.
“You reflect for sure,” he said. “Everybody did their ‘what if’s’ but you can’t live in the past, you can’t live in those moments. Obviously, we could have had something special, but it didn’t happen. Didn’t work, and we all moved on.”
Beal also recognized the disappointment shared among him, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant, whose partnership failed to produce the success many had anticipated.
“It’s probably gonna be a big ‘what if?’ story forever but at the end of the day, everybody has a story, everything happens for a reason and I’m excited with where I am and I’m sure Book’s excited for his team and I’m sure K is excited for his situation.”
Beal’s remarks reflected a sense of closure and optimism about the future, both for himself and his former teammates.
Bradley Beal revisited his time with the Suns, admitting disappointment but emphasizing lessons learned and optimism for the next chapter of his career.
