PHOENIX — Jalen Green made a strong debut for the Phoenix Suns, scoring 29 points as the team defeated the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers 115-102 on Thursday night.
Green, who returned after missing the first eight games due to a right hamstring injury, played 23 minutes and shot 10-for-20 from the field, including 6-for-13 from beyond the arc. The guard joined Phoenix from Houston in a seven-team trade that also sent Kevin Durant to the Rockets.
The Clippers suffered their third consecutive loss, playing without James Harden, who missed the game for personal reasons, and Kawhi Leonard, sidelined by a right ankle sprain.
Bradley Beal, returning to Phoenix after two injury-plagued seasons with the Suns, struggled badly for the Clippers, going 2-for-14 from the field and finishing with five points.
Beal was booed during introductions and each time he touched the ball throughout the game.
