Hayley Williams has returned with a fresh single titled “Showbiz.” The release coincides with the long-awaited physical edition of her album Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.
“Showbiz” features crisp drums, a vocoder-enhanced chorus, and shimmering synths, offering a romantic indie pop sound. The track’s glossy production, crafted by Williams alongside her Ego Death collaborator Daniel James, channels the smooth, syncopated rhythms reminiscent of Phoenix.
Williams previously sampled Phoenix’s 2017 track “Fior di Latte” on her recent song “Love Me Different.”
While no official tour has been announced to promote Ego Death, hints suggest one might be in development. On the website where Williams unexpectedly released the entire album, a “trash” folder contained a photo showing a potential world tour route on a sheet of paper.
“Showbiz” follows the earlier new song “Good Ol’ Days,” and both are part of the physical releases of Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.
Author’s summary: Hayley Williams enhances her latest album cycle with the romantic indie pop single "Showbiz," hinting at an upcoming global tour and continuing her collaboration with Daniel James.
