Flinders Port Holdings floats into Christmas Pageant

Flinders Port Holdings Debuts Custom Float at Adelaide Christmas Pageant

Flinders Port Holdings (FPH) celebrates maritime trade with a specially designed float at the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide, emphasizing its role in spreading festive cheer to South Australians.

Pageant Details and Significance

The event begins at 9:30 AM on Saturday, 8 November, marked by the sounding of the golden whistle. Since 1933, this pageant has signaled the start of the Christmas season in South Australia, attracting large crowds of all ages along the city streets.

About the FPH Float

FPH expressed excitement on social media about revealing their float for the first time in five years. The float features a replica of one of their Pilot boats, accompanied by figures such as straddle carriers, containers, and FPH elves managing Christmas gift lists.

"Our float is particularly special—it's the first custom-built float to join the pageant in five years, proudly featuring a replica of one of our Pilot boats, alongside a crew of straddle carriers, containers, and FPH elves ticking off Christmas gifts."

The blue fabric ruffle beneath the float enhances the visual effect, simulating the Pilot Boat gliding through water.

Official Launch

The float was officially launched earlier this week at Outer Harbor, with some of the FPH elves participating in the festivities.

"Our float celebrates the vital role maritime trade plays in bringing festive joy, and presents, to South Australians each year."

FPH highlights the importance of maritime trade in supporting the region’s holiday spirit through this engaging display.

Summary: Flinders Port Holdings showcases the essential role of maritime trade in South Australia’s Christmas traditions with a unique float debuting at the 2025 Adelaide Christmas Pageant.
