The Las Vegas Raiders suffered another devastating setback Thursday night, falling 10–7 to the Denver Broncos while losing quarterback Geno Smith to injury. The defeat pushed the Raiders to a 2–7 record for the season.
Smith finished with 143 passing yards and one interception before leaving the game early in the fourth quarter. The injury occurred when he tried to scramble past Denver’s defender Nik Bonitto, who made contact with Smith’s right knee. After a few unsteady steps, he collapsed as Malcolm Roach fell on him.
“He was replaced briefly by Kenny Pickett before returning to action, but was later listed as questionable to return with a left quadriceps issue.”
The team’s injury problems deepened when guards Dylan Parham and Jackson Powers-Johnson exited with ankle injuries. Coach Pete Carroll later confirmed that Powers-Johnson is expected to miss significant time.
With only 188 total offensive yards, Las Vegas struggled mightily. The game underscored both the team’s offensive limitations and worsening injury crisis, marking one of the lowest points of their season.
The Raiders’ 10–7 loss to Denver highlighted their offensive struggles and mounting injuries, with Geno Smith and key linemen sidelined in a painful blow to an already faltering season.
