At the Los40 Music Awards in Valencia, Spain, Rosalía showcased a striking look from Pierpaolo Piccioli's debut Balenciaga spring 2026 collection. The singer is marking a new musical chapter with her critically acclaimed album, Lux, while her red carpet style nodded to the boldness of her earlier Motomami era.
Rosalía wore a monochrome ensemble featuring a midriff-baring crop top made from fringed, textured fabric paired with a voluminous ball skirt worn extremely low on her waist. The look was cinched with a Balenciaga logo belt, recalling the daring low-rise fashion of the early 2000s associated with celebrities like Paris Hilton and Kate Moss.
The maxi skirt echoed the infamous “bumster” silhouette popularized by Alexander McQueen, a design that once shocked the Paris runway and defined that era's provocative style.
However, it was Rosalía’s eyewear that truly captured attention: bug-eye shield goggles adorned with crystals that covered her forehead, evoking the edgier aesthetic of her Motomami phase, as well as some of the wildest looks from Lux contributor Björk.
“Piccoli was looking back to past eras during her debut, too, and included some accessories that honored the contributions of former creative directors to the house.”
This fusion of past and present reflects both the artist’s evolving style and the creative vision of Pierpaolo Piccioli in his first collection for Balenciaga.
Rosalía’s look skillfully merges her daring Motomami vibe with the refined edge of Lux, reviving early 2000s fashion trends through Pierpaolo Piccioli’s debut Balenciaga collection.
