As Bam Adebayo’s MRI looms, Heat returns home hoping for good news: ‘We just got to wait and see’

As Bam Adebayo’s MRI Looms, Heat Returns Home Hoping for Good News

The Miami Heat and Bam Adebayo are now in wait-and-see mode. After finishing a challenging four-game road trip, the team packed up at Ball Arena in Denver with uncertainty hanging over them—this time not because of a loss, but because of Adebayo’s health.

Miami fell to the Denver Nuggets 122–112, closing the trip at 1–3 and bringing their season record to 4–4. However, concern was focused on Adebayo’s early exit in the first quarter due to a left foot injury. He did not return to the game.

“We don’t know right now,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said before leaving Denver. “It’s his left foot, so we’ll find out more Thursday.”

The situation was made more difficult for Spoelstra, who returned home to Coral Gables to discover a fire had destroyed his house. Meanwhile, Adebayo, a three-time All-Star and team captain, will have an MRI in Miami to determine the extent of his injury.

“We’ll figure it out,” Adebayo said at his locker. “Get more tests Thursday and then see how it goes.”

The Heat’s upcoming home schedule begins with four straight games, including an in-season tournament matchup against the Charlotte Hornets at Kaseya Center on Friday night. Adebayo’s availability for that back-to-back series remains uncertain.
